El Gran Wyoming and Sandra Sabatés present an installment of ‘Páginas Salmonete’, a section of El Intermedio where they review the latest national and international economic news. The first news they refer to is the new measure by the Spanish government to encourage the incorporation of unemployed people into the labor market.
The Ministry of Economy has designed a plan that could modify the way the subsidy is collected: the same amount will be received in total but charging a larger amount at the beginning of the benefit to gradually decrease, as well as other measures such as penalizing those who resign, without justification, to join the labor market.
Sandra Sabatés also refers to the ERE announced by Telefónica to reduce its workforce in Spain, which could affect around 2,500 employees. Wyoming has stated in response to the news that “let’s hope this phone company doesn’t end up leaving them hanging.”
The mortgage market continues to collapse. In the month of September it fell almost 30% compared to the same month of the previous year.
