Wall St closes slightly higher after mixed Fed statements

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stocks ended slightly higher on Tuesday after moving in a narrow range during the session as investors weighed conflicting comments from Federal Reserve officials and upbeat U.S. consumer data. American providing some momentum.
