First Look: ‘Angry’ Trailer Reveals Intense Action of Long-Awaited ‘Fury Road’ Prequel

by time news

The trailer for the long-awaited Fury Road prequel, Angry, has been released, much to the excitement of Mad Max franchise fans. The intense footage promises nearly wall-to-wall action, explosions, and frantic driving, as expected in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, and Quaden Bayles in supporting roles.

Titled Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the film follows the young Furiosa, who is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. The official description promises a thrilling adventure as Furiosa plots a way back home through the Wasteland.

The 2015 film Fury Road was a critical and audience hit, making nearly $400 million at the box office globally. However, the prequel will not feature Charlize Theron as Furiosa, as director George Miller had considered using extensive CG de-aging on her but ultimately decided against it.

Theron expressed disappointment in not returning to the role, but she respects Miller and wishes him nothing but the best. The Angry prequel was conceived even before Fury Road was made, but legal battles over profits delayed the project for several years. Now, the “chaos has stabilized” and the film is set to hit theaters on May 24, 2024.

Fans can look forward to what promises to be another thrilling addition to the Mad Max franchise with the release of Angry.
