McDonald’s set to make over 50 changes to its burger menu

McDonald’s is gearing up for a major menu revamp with over 50 changes to its popular burger items, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. The news comes as the fast food giant prepares for a new ad campaign, touting “our best burgers ever.”

The changes will include modifications to the iconic Big Mac, with two all-beef patties cooked in smaller batches for a more uniform sear and more special sauce, fresher lettuce, cheese, and pickles on a buttery brioche bun.

“We can do it quick, fast and safe, but it doesn’t necessarily taste great. So, we want to incorporate quality into where we’re at,” said Chris Young, McDonald’s senior director of global menu strategy.

Chef Chad Schafer at McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago has been perfecting the new burger patties for seven years, with the new recipe first tested in Australia and set to roll out in the U.S. by early 2024.

The changes will be introduced first on the West Coast and the Midwest before eventually reaching all 13,460 McDonald’s locations in the U.S.

Investors are taking note of the fast food giant’s efforts to improve its menu, with Gradient Investments President Mike Binger recently adding McDonald’s to his portfolio. Binger pointed to the company’s dedication to improving its offerings as a key factor in his decision.

In addition to McDonald’s, Binger also added Ulta Beauty to his portfolio, explaining his investment decisions on ‘The Claman Countdown.’

As McDonald’s prepares to unveil its new and improved burgers, investors and customers alike are eagerly anticipating the changes set to take the fast food industry by storm.
