LOS ANGELES – Joe Flacco, the veteran quarterback who took over the Cleveland Browns this week, has the support of his new teammates. However, for Flacco, impressing his new teammates is nothing compared to the audience he needs to win over at home.
Flacco, who is set to make his first start of the season this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, has five kids at home ages 5 to 11 who are eagerly anticipating his return to the field. He expressed excitement at the opportunity to play the game he loves but also admitted that the encouragement from his kids adds to the thrill.
As of now, Flacco is expected to start Sunday’s game as rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson is still in the concussion protocol. Flacco, who has been preparing while at home with his family, mentioned that he was excited at the opportunity to join the Browns in a full-time capacity.
“I love playing this game and anytime an opportunity kind of presents itself, you’ve just got to be patient and see what’s in store for you, and that’s what I’m doing right now,” Flacco said.

“There’s so many things that add to it now, having young kids and feeling their excitement about it. And when you’re away, it puts things in perspective a little bit,” Flacco said.
