(LaPresse) – Astronomers have discovered a rare solar system in which six planets appear to move like a great cosmic orchestra. This is a discovery that can help understand how the solar systems of the Milky Way formed. The planets move around the star, HD 110067, located in the constellation Coma Berenice, which is 100 light-years away from us. The observations, among others, involved NASA’s Tess satellite telescope and the European Space Agency’s Cheops. None of the discovered planets are within the star’s so-called habitable zone, meaning little to no chance of life, at least as we know it. They are about two to three times the size of Earth and have a density similar to that of the gas giants of our solar system. (LaPresse)
