Bobo-Dioulasso: CSOs say thank you to “IB” and the Combatant Forces

Bobo-Dioulasso, (AIB)-Civil society organizations organized a march on Saturday December 2, 2023 in Bobo-Dioulasso. The marchers reaffirmed their support for the transition regime headed by President Ibrahim Traoré.

The Burkinabè transition regime benefits from support in the Hauts-Bassins, particularly in Bobo-Dioulasso.

Civil society organizations (CSOs) and associative structures marched on the morning of Saturday December 2, 2023 to reaffirm their support for the power in place.

From Tiéfo Amoro Square, demonstrators traveled through the Hauts-Bassins governorate, accompanied by the sound of motorcycle horns and music.

There, they gave a letter of thanks to the president of the transition.

The spokesperson for these CSOs, Kolé Tony, indicated that the support march is the initiative of the CSOs of Bobo-Dioulasso, more precisely of the collective “Generation Burkina Nouveau Benkadi” (GBNB), bringing together around fifty structures.

He then congratulated and thanked the President of Faso, affirming that the feat achieved by the defense and security forces during the attack on Djibo on November 26, 2023 has not been equaled anywhere in the world, as well as for all the victories won on the ground across the national territory.

“Despite the difficult security context, your desire to make Burkina Faso an El Dorado and to build a bright future for future generations remains relevant,” declared Mr. Tony.

In the eyes of Kolé Tony and his comrades, the war must be conducted appropriately, while undertaking actions to stimulate the socio-economic development of the country of honest men.

“We understood your message which warned us that the war had not started and that we were in the process of being introduced,” said the GBNB spokesperson, adding that President Traoré represents the hope not only of Burkina Faso but of an entire generation.

They also praised the dedication of the defense and security forces, expressing confidence that Burkina Faso will finally find peace. The demonstrators also expressed the wish to extend the transition and revise the constitution.
