This Sunday, an entire club woke up with a hangover. And that has nothing to do with the defeat of the N3 team from Linas-Montlhéry on Saturday at Lusitanos Saint-Maur (2-0). Friday evening, a very serious incident occurred during U9 training. An educator in the category was in fact attacked by a parent.

This aggression pushed the Essonne club to react. Linas-Montlhéry, a family club with no history, has decided to cancel its football school training sessions scheduled for Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5. Sanctions will also be taken against the parent concerned. “These session cancellations aim to raise awareness among parents and children about this unacceptable behavior,” writes president Michael Bertansetti in a press release.

“One of our coaches was physically attacked by a parent, an unacceptable and intolerable attack. For some time now we have noticed an increase in verbal attacks as well as the aggressiveness of certain parents towards our educators, continues the Ile-de-France leader. This episode goes up a notch in violence and is the straw that breaks the camel's back (…). From now on, any act of violence, verbal or physical aggression against one of the educators, volunteers or leaders of the club will be firmly sanctioned with immediate effect. »

“Parents must respect the decisions and choices of the educator, let the educator give instructions to the team alone during a match, respect the referees, the opponents and the public present. We must not forget that players have the right to make mistakes, as do educators and referees. » This is not the first time that the behavior of certain parents on the sidelines has caused problems. In April 2022, the ACBB, in Boulogne-Billancourt, suspended its training this Wednesday due to verbal and physical attacks.
