Kuwait City: Resolved issues related to renewal of residence records of foreigners above 60 years of age in the country who do not have high school education qualifications. The local Arab newspaper Al Anba reports that the decision was made at a meeting of the Manpower Authority today. It is reported that the Minister of Justice, Jamal al-Jalawi, has decided to issue a work permit to renew the residence permit for this category by imposing a fee of 250 dinars and a fixed insurance fee.

Sources also said that three categories of children of Kuwaiti women, those born in Kuwait and those with Palestinian citizenship were exempted from the fee. However, the fee for private health insurance is not specified. Authorities have already discussed a number of proposals, including a 500-1000 fee for one year, before renewing the residence permit for expatriates over the age of 60, which has now been set at 250 dinars.
