Saudi Arabia Introduces Advanced Mobile Technology System to Monitor and Repair Roads

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has implemented an advanced mobile technology system to monitor and repair defects on the country’s roads and post traffic signs. This innovative system, which is the first of its kind in the Gulf region, is a significant step towards ensuring the safety and quality of the roads in the country.

Introduced by the Roads General Authority, the system aims to efficiently monitor road maintenance and ensure the overall safety of the roads. Equipped with high-resolution cameras and GPS for location determination, the device can be mounted on a vehicle and travel at a speed of up to 80 kmph to carry out various tasks such as placing necessary traffic signs and assessing the quality of roads.

The Roads Authority emphasized that the system will not only improve the efficiency and quality of road maintenance but will also help reduce costs and renew road signs. Additionally, by significantly reducing the risk of workers involved in road maintenance works, the system will contribute to ensuring a safer working environment for those involved in the maintenance efforts.

The introduction of this system underscores the government’s commitment to focusing on the quality, safety, and traffic density of the entire country’s road network.

In other news, Saudi Arabia has dispatched a third relief ship from the King Salman Relief Center to Gaza, carrying 1,246 tons of relief goods in 300 large containers. The aid includes essential medical supplies, medicines, basic food items, powdered infant formula, and shelter materials, aimed at providing much-needed relief to the people of Gaza in their time of crisis and suffering.

This humanitarian effort, which follows the dispatch of two previous relief ships and ongoing airlifts of aid to Gaza, demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in times of need. The relief aid will be delivered to Said port in Egypt, as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
