This is the last meeting of the group stage of the Women’s Nations League. This Tuesday (7:15 p.m., France 4), the French team travels to Portugal.

Friday, Hervé Renard’s players dominated Austria (3-0) with a goal from Marie-Antoinette Katoto, for her return after eighteen months away from Les Bleues.

The PSG attacker will not be able to continue her momentum. This Sunday evening, the French staff announced that Katoto had to withdraw from the meeting in Portugal due to muscle discomfort in one thigh. The same goes for Kadidiatou Diani, the Lyonnaise.

These two attacks forced Hervé Renard to call Melvine Malard, the Manchester United player.

The coach also chose to call up two defenders: Hillary Diaz (Bordeaux) and Thiniba Samoura (Paris Saint-Germain) who was until now with the U23s.

In a press release from the FFF, Hervé Renard explains these summons: “There is a double desire: firstly, that of continuing my review of the squad in view of the deadlines that await us. And, secondly, a more strategic wish. We were able to follow the UEFA regulations which indicate that players under threat of a second yellow card on Tuesday would be deprived of the semi-final of the Final Four. We have six players (Élisa De Almeida, Amandine Henry, Léa Le Garrec, Eugénie Le Sommer, Griedge MBock and Wendie Renard) in this situation and I wanted to increase my options to avoid any risk of suspension even though our qualification is assured before the match against Portugal.

The Blues will know on December 11, following a draw organized by UEFA, which team they will face for a place in the final of the Nations League.
