It was announced several weeks ago, it is now confirmed by the journalist herself: Cécile Grès is leaving the rugby section of France Télévisions. The Frenchwoman, who gave birth to her first child almost five months ago, will nevertheless remain in the public service. After the end of her maternity leave, she will participate in the coverage of the Paris Olympic Games but also in non-sport broadcasts.

This Sunday, the journalist confirmed the end of this rugby adventure on her social networks. “From my first paper in the Team in 2013 to my last very pregnant match last April, ten magnificent years of rugby,” she wrote on Instagram. 250 Pro D2 matches with a group of friends who became friends, meetings with incredible players, reports, a World Cup in Japan, 5 Tournaments and a Grand Slam, trips, my first matches on commentary and this feeling always powerful to be so lucky to be there. I’m leaving rugby to do lots of new and exciting things at the start of the school year, on January 2nd. It was great, it was really great. »

It is Hélène Macurdy who will replace Cécile Grès at the edge of the pitch during the Champions Cup and Six Nations Tournament matches. A regular on the Stade 2 set, the latter will also distance herself from this show, even if she will present it when Matthieu Lartot is busy with other events, as he announced in an interview given to The Team this Friday.
