Kurds: “Hundreds of ISIS terrorists surrendered in prison”

After last Thursday, ISIS members managed to break into a Kurdish-controlled prison, leading to sharp clashes between members of the terrorist organization and the Kurdish forces – tonight (Monday) the Kurds say that about 300 ISIS soldiers who were inside the prison surrendered.

In recent days, fierce fighting has been taking place in northeastern Syria, after ISIS forces tried to break into a prison holding many operatives associated with the terrorist organization.

The attempted break-in into the prison, which is being held by Kurdish forces, failed after a confrontation between the parties and after air intervention by the U.S. military.

Since the attempted break-in last Thursday, there have been severe clashes between the Kurdish forces and the Islamic State-ISIS forces in the city of al-Hasqa.

In the crowded prison, no less than 3,500 prisoners are being held, many of whom are operatives of the terrorist organization.

In Syria, it is said that at least 77 ISIS fighters and 39 Kurdish fighters were killed inside and outside the prison during the attacks.
