Tensions between the two countries have escalated as Russia continues to concentrate its forces on the border with Ukraine. The United States continues to warn that Russia could invade Ukraine at any time. Russia has categorically denied this, as many countries, including the United Kingdom, are in a similar position.
In this case, the United States has ordered the families of US embassy officials in Ukraine to leave immediately. A statement from the US State Department said, “Russia is planning a specific military operation against Ukraine. So the families of the US embassy officials living there should leave immediately. As well as allowing non-staff to leave for essential tasks. U.S. citizens in Ukraine are also being asked to consider leaving. ”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the UK has begun the process of withdrawing its embassy officials in Ukraine. Japan has also advised its citizens in Ukraine to be extra vigilant.
