The Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Mr. Félix Ulloa Jr., together with the Ambassador of Italy in our country, Mr. Edoardo Pucci, participated as witnesses of honor in the signing of the Framework Agreement between the General Secretariat of the @family_orgled by Ms. Antonella Cavallari and the Trinational Commission of the @Plan_Trifinio, represented by the Trinational Executive Secretary, Mrs. Liseth Hernández, within the framework of the project “Technological innovation and scientific research for sustainable and competitive horticulture in the Trifinio region.” At the activity, Vice President Ulloa reiterated the Government’s strong commitment to strengthening agriculture, protect the environment, combat poverty and guarantee food security. In that sense, he highlighted the positive impact of the Agricultural Rescue Master Plan promoted by the President @nayibbukele and how this initiative has managed to pay off the historical debt that weighed on the sector after decades of abandonment, allowing farmers to recover their productivity and El Salvador to become a self-sufficient country.

Furthermore, he stressed that in the vision of the Government of El Salvador, innovation and technology are fundamental elements of development and detailed that during this administration, technological tools have been integrated into strategic sectors such as agriculture. Under this line, the Minister of @AgriculturaSVMr. Óscar Guardado highlighted President Bukele’s firm commitment to sustainability, using science and technology for the well-being of the population.

For this reason, he expressed his satisfaction with this agreement since it will benefit the families of micro and small agricultural producers. The Secretary General of the IILA expressed her satisfaction with El Salvador’s interest in executing strategic actions that respond to the shared needs of the members of the communities and reiterated that the IILA is convinced of contributing to the strengthening of the agricultural sector in the region.

Subsequently, the Trinational Executive Secretary of the Trifinio Plan explained that the signature allows the bilateral activation of any synergy and scientific collaboration in the promotion of joint initiatives (seminars, conferences, institutional meetings, studies and research), the execution of cooperation with special attention to integration issues and the exchange of information and good practices. Likewise, Ambassador Pucci expressed that, for Italian Cooperation in El Salvador, agriculture represents a priority sector, for this reason, he reiterated the solid commitment to improving the quality of life of farmers with the aim of strengthening security. food, promote sustainable development and contribute to a more prosperous and equitable future. Subsequently, the IILA Project Manager, Mr. Nicola Michelon explained that the project consists of 3 modules: Sustainable vegetable production through enabling technologies for precision agriculture, vegetable marketing and governance for local development.
