Reims Eyeing Red Star Belgrade Goalkeeper Omari Glazer for 6-7 Million Euros
Omari Glazer’s impressive performance in the group stages of the Champions League and in the qualifiers for Euro 2024 has caught the attention of teams from top European leagues. According to Serbian media reports, French club Reims is interested in acquiring the goalkeeper from Red Star Belgrade and is prepared to offer a transfer fee ranging from 6 to 7 million euros.
Glazer, who was sold to Kochav Edom from Hapoel Beer Sheva last summer for 1.2 million euros, has drawn interest from Reims, prompting speculation about a potential transfer. It’s worth noting that Alona Barkat, the owner of Hapoel Beer Sheva, has reserved future percentages from Glazer’s sale, ensuring that the club will benefit if the goalkeeper is sold for a substantial amount. Hapoel Beer Sheva is estimated to receive 20 percent of the future sales, which will be dependent on the amount of the transfer fee.
The percentage promised to Hapoel Beer Sheva will come from the difference between the amount for which Glazer was sold to Hapoel Beer Sheva and the amount for which he is bought by the next team. Therefore, if Reims or another team agrees to pay 6 million euros for Glazer, Hapoel Beer Sheva will receive 20 percent of that amount. If the transfer fee increases to 7 million euros, the percentage received by Hapoel Beer Sheva will also increase.
However, it is important to note that Glazer is under contract for another two and a half years at Red Star Belgrade, and it is uncertain whether the club will be willing to part ways with him mid-season, especially as they are currently in the midst of a championship fight against Partizan Belgrade.
