The Senate of the Republic approved two new loans for a total amount of 138 million dollars, for the financing of different programs.
Both loans were previously approved by the Chamber of Deputies, so the Executive Branch will be able to use these funds.
The first approved advance corresponds to a contract signed with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), on December 23, 2022.
The loan was for an amount of 38 million dollars, money that will be used to finance the support program for the “RD-Trabaja Flexible Employment System” which will be executed by the Ministry of Labor.
While the second corresponds to a contract signed between the Dominican Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), on July 26 of this year.
The loan was taken for 100 million dollars to finance the “project to support the national housing program” that will be executed by the Ministry of the Presidency.
Having the sanction of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, the 138 million dollars will be at the disposal of the Executive Branch.
