Xiaomi Announces Upcoming Support for WiFi 7 in Flagship Phones
The new wireless communication standard, WiFi 7, is set to offer significantly improved performance compared to its predecessors, WiFi 6E and WiFi 6. While the actual implementation of WiFi 7 is expected to begin in 2024, some companies are already preparing for the upcoming transition.
One such company is Xiaomi, which has announced plans to upgrade some of its flagship phones to support WiFi 7 and prepare them for the next generation of wireless connectivity. The list of phones set to receive this upgrade includes the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13, and the company’s latest foldable phone, Mix Fold 3.
In theory, devices equipped with WiFi 7 will be capable of providing up to 2.4 times more performance than WiFi 6, with a potential data transfer rate of up to 30 gigabits per second in multi-channel work. Additionally, WiFi 7 is expected to provide a more stable connection and will utilize the 320 MHz band with 4K QAM modulation technology.
