The Spain-Italy Chamber of Commerce has awarded the new CaixaBank branch in Milan (Italy) as the ‘Best Banking Initiative in Italy 2023’.
These awards are granted by the camera every year to “excellent companies in the country” and their objective is to recognize Spanish companies with a presence in Italy that stand out for their values, their innovation and their capacity for development in the Italian market.
CaixaBank obtained its banking license in Italy in early 2023, allowing its team in the country to manage clients locally and directly offer multiple financial and banking services for large Italian and multinational corporations in Italy.
The entity was present in Milan since 2000 through a representative office, which worked as a link between Italian and multinational companies and the team of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) of CaixaBank in Spain.
The opening of the branch is “one more step in the process of converting” representative offices in Europe into branches with a banking license, after the case of the United Kingdom, in 2016; from Germany, in 2017, and from France in 2018.
