SANTO DOMINGO.- The candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court (TC), Cándido Simón, upon being evaluated this Thursday in the public hearings held by the National Council of the Judiciary, He took his turn to highlight the work of the legal profession and how proud he is to practice this specialty.

The jurist highlighted the progress of the legal community and how good it feels to be a lawyer, but emphasized that the The Bar Association doesn’t make you feel that way.

“I feel proud to be a lawyer, although my school doesn’t make me feel that way, but this is evidence of how much the legal community has advanced,” Simón expressed.

It should be noted that this Thursday the National Council of the Judiciary (CNM) holds its fifth and last session to evaluate the aspiring judges of the Constitutional Court (TC).

At the time of his evaluation, the lawyer interrupted the president to congratulate the CNM and made the comment: “I want to congratulate you and I wish you luck because many quality people have passed through this chair,” at which point the president supported his message about the “difficult task” of choosing judges.

He added: “I feel proud to be a lawyer, although my school doesn’t make me feel that way, but this is evidence of how much the legal community has advanced.”

This Thursday, among the 20 candidates participating this day, was Cándido Simón, who despite not being questioned about the recent elections held by the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD), the jurist made a brief mention about the topic.
