On the night of this Wednesday (6), Corinthians entered the field to compete in the last round of the Brasileirão 2023. Playing away from home, Team do Povo faced Coritiba and won 2-0, with goals from Fausto Vera and Romero.
With the victory, Alvinegro ended its participation in the national competition with 50 points and in 13th place.
First time
Timão started the match with more possession of the ball, occupying more of the defensive field, exchanging passes.
The first attempt in the attack occurred at Romero’s feet. The attacker crossed the ball into the area and with a deflection, the goalkeeper made the save, sending it to a corner.
The opponent had a counterattack in the eighth minute, but Carlos Miguel, attentive, made the save and sent the ball to the corner.
Corinthians goal! At 10 minutes, Fausto Vera received the ball in the middle, carried it to the edge of the area and finished with his right leg, 1-0. This was Fausto Vera’s first goal with the Timão shirt.

Corinthians will only return to the field in 2024, to compete in the Campeonato Paulista. The competition starts in the second half of January.
