MV Agusta and internationally renowned artist Daniel Arsham have joined forces to create a special and limited series of its Supervelocea model that has been presented to the world on the occasion of Art Basel Miami, the main international art fair in Miami Beach.

Daniel Arsham is known for breaking the rules of artistic academia, a characteristic fully expressed in his ‘signature’ erosion technique. Arsham’s cutting-edge erosion method represents the concept of the passage of time through sculptures. Working in a multitude of disciplines, he creates and crystallizes ambiguous spaces between two stages and situations, and represents what he calls future relics of the present.

Always iconic, most of the objects it makes They refer to the 1980s or the millennial era, when technological obsolescence accelerated unprecedentedly along with the digital dematerialization of our world. While the present, future and past collide poetically in his intriguing yet playful visions of romanticism and pop art, Arsham also experiments with the timelessness of certain symbols and gestures across cultures.

The concept is strikingly similar to the intimate nature of the Superveloce itself: Disturbingly attractive, avant-garde, incredibly iconic and high-techbut with clear references to the great motorcycle classics, the MV Agusta Superveloce was a natural choice for this project.

The series will be limited to only six units, which also makes it a true object of rarity and desire for the most passionate collectors. The bike is completely painted in white, simulating the material used by Arsham in his creations, and to give it that sculpture look, The artist has left several ‘scars’ spread across the fairing with embedded pieces of glass.

The Superveloce is powered by a 798 cc inline three-cylinder engine that produces 147 HP at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm at 10,600 rpm. It has an ALS tubular steel chassis with an aluminum alloy single-sided swingarm. The front suspension is a 43 mm Marzocchi fork with TIN treatment and all kinds of adjustment options; The rear suspension is entrusted to a Sachs monoshock adjustable in rebound, compression and spring preload, with Brembo Stylema brakes biting 320 mm discs at the front and 220 mm at the rear.

“I have always been fascinated by the world of automobiles,” Daniel Arsham said during the presentation of this model. “The spirit of car and motorcycle design always adjusts to a specific era and marks the passage of time through its design. The Superveloce project was the opportunity to explore a ‘sculpture in motion’a functional motorcycle transformed into sculpture, adding glass erosions and applying a color that is reminiscent of my other artwork and my style. Together with MV Agusta we created everything on the bike, including the stand, overcoming engineering challenges and resulting in a new interpretation of the Art of the Motorcycle.”
