Our organizations are engaged on all fronts of solidarity and health. Actors in a “taking care” society, we implement the public policies of the State and local authorities and are recognized for what we undertake on a daily basis with vulnerable people.

This mandate also leads us to express ourselves in order to help guide public action, present or future. Today, we must express our amazement, and even our indignation, at the bill “to control immigration, improve integration” voted by the Senate and which will soon be examined by the deputies.

We cannot remain silent in the face of comments stigmatizing foreigners, in the face of invasion fantasies denied by statistics and sociological studies, in the face of the harmful and unconstitutional provisions contained in this text. We can only express our deep concern at the model of society that they are creating for our children and grandchildren.

For the unconditionality of people’s rights

Rooted in the values ​​that guide us, attached to the principles of law, but also out of realism, we call on parliamentarians and, through them, the entire country to a burst of responsibility and humanity. Our daily commitment is part of an ethic of conviction which places respect and dignity of the person at the heart of our actions.

Fraternity is not an overused word or one that should be forgotten on the fronts of our town halls. It is the cement of our life together. Our individual and collective motivations are based on the unconditionality of people’s fundamental rights, values ​​held by France for more than two centuries.

The expertise of all our members, drawn from their practice in the field, allows us to affirm that the better we welcome and support, the better the social integration of foreigners living on our soil. While being aware of the complexity of our world and the possible abuses, let us remember that France has always been a land of immigration.

A need for additional human resources

Let us remember that, during the hardest period of the pandemic, it was many foreigners, in different professions, who allowed our country to continue to live. Let us recognize that it is very often foreign women who take care of our elders or our young children.
