Prophetic, an American company, has unveiled a new wearable device called Halo that allows users to work in their dreams through lucid dreaming. Co-founded by Eric Wollberg and Wesley Berry, Prophetic has collaborated with Elon Musk’s Neuralink to develop Halo, which emits a focused beam of ultrasound to stimulate the part of the brain that controls decision-making and consciousness. This unique device is expected to be shipped in the spring of 2025.

The company emphasizes that Halo is more effective than similar products as it uses ultrasound beams to stimulate areas of the brain associated with lucid dreaming. Prophetic hopes to give users control over the potential innovative benefits of lucid dreaming, which includes allowing people to find new solutions to problems that cannot be solved while awake.

Despite the optimistic outlook, psychology professor Antonio Zadra questioned the ease of inducing and controlling lucid dreams, stating that it requires a lot of practice and skill. Other experts recommend meditating or recording dreams to increase the odds of controlling dreams.

In the same vein, a British government report highlighted the impact of AI on different professions, noting that highly professional occupations such as finance, law, and business management are more susceptible to the impact of AI. The report also pointed out that AI may have a profound and widespread impact on the British economy and society, with 10% to 30% of occupations being automatable.

While the future of lucid dreaming with Halo seems promising, the impact of AI on various professions and industries is also a topic that is being closely monitored and analyzed. Both advancements in technology hold the potential to revolutionize the way we work and interact with our surroundings.
