The international film festival will be showcasing five competing films on Sunday, including the Iranian film Achilles. The films, Evil Does Not Exist, Sunday, Achilles, Prison in the Antes and Sermon to the Birds, will cover themes of resistance, survival, environmental problems, and human conflicts.

Evil Does Not Exist, directed by Oscar-winning Japanese director Rusyuke Hamaguchi, explores the arrival of industrialists to a village and the potential environmental and social conflicts that may arise. Sunday, a film by debutant Uzbek director Shokir Kholikov, delves into the conflicts between two generations.

Farhad Delaram’s Achilles follows the story of a former filmmaker assisting a political prisoner in escaping from prison, while Prison in the Antes tells the tale of criminals who fear losing their luxurious lifestyles due to unexpected events. Additionally, Hilal Baydarov’s Azerbaijani fantasy film Sermon to the Birds will also be screened in the competition category on Sunday.
