The number of cases received in Saudi labor courts so far this year has crossed one lakh, with most of the complaints relating to violations of the contract between employers and workers and delays in receiving salaries. According to the figures released by the Ministry of Law, a total of 102,200 cases have been registered in Saudi Arabia in 2023, averaging 426 labor cases every day.

Violations of contracts between employers and employees, wage revision and delay, delay in granting allowances, compensation, awards, and service certificates have added to the number of cases reaching the courts.

In response to the high number of labor grievances, various schemes and legal reforms are being implemented in the country to reduce and resolve these issues. The Ministry of Law has been working to address the problems faced by workers and improve the working conditions in the country.

It is clear that there is a pressing need to address the various issues leading to these labor disputes, and the government’s efforts to implement reforms are a step in the right direction. As the number of cases continues to rise, it is essential for both employers and workers to adhere to labor laws and regulations to prevent further grievances from arising.
