The formula made up of Andrés Ibarra and Mauricio Macri has already given its arguments why it believes that the precautionary measure that suspended the elections is well imposed. The House would issue its decision on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

The Boca world cannot sleep well since the sudden suspension of the presidential elections on December 3 when there were just five days left until they were held on the lawn of Bombonera itself.

Throughout these two weeks, too much water flowed through the river: crossed and heated accusations between Juan Román Riquelme and Mauricio Macri – the main figures of the ruling party and the opposition respectively -, changes of judges, complaints and endless events which caused multiple dizziness in the heads of the partners, who were left in the middle of the crossfire. But now this battle seems to enter the zone of definitions after a formal presentation of the Passion + Management formula and the prompt resolution of the Judiciary.

Specifically, the Andrés Ibarra-Mauricio Macri duo submitted a letter to the Court around noon in which they provided all the arguments why they believe that the precautionary measure imposed by Judge Alejandra Abrevaya, based on a complaint for alleged irregularities in the electoral roll, is well done.

According to the former President of the Nation and the former Minister of Modernization, between August and December 2021, around 13,000 new active members joined the club, bypassing the members who had priority to join because they met the appropriate seniority. The aggravating factor is that only 65 unsubscribed in that period, which leaves a notoriously unbalanced proportion.

How the elections continue in Boca: presentation of the opposition and the ruling of the Chamber

«If we continue this way, the club is going to get worse every day. Let’s stop with the lies and manipulation. Let us respect that the judge verified it with an expert opinion. Riquelme, if you are going to win 95 to 5, remove those partners from the registry, accept the expert opinion and let’s vote on December 17,” the Tandilense told the Torero, in a defiant tone, during a press conference held on Wednesday at the Hotel Supply. Macri’s response was the latest in a long history of provocations, which included a chicane from Román due to the change in the date of the election event. “Let them do it whenever they want, we are going to beat them every day,” he shot hours after Abrevaya’s decision was known.

As soon as it received the letter, the Civil Appeals Chamber made a decision that momentarily returned the hope to the Boca supporters. Although he had time to do so until Tuesday the 11th at 9:30 in the morning, he immediately transferred all the elements of the case to the prosecutor so that he could rule as quickly as possible.

When could the ruling of Justice on the elections in Boca come out?

To be clear: the resolution of the Prosecutor’s Office, which according to what TyC Sports found out could be announced next Monday, is not binding, but it does have importance in the case. Once one of the two parties is right, the ball will return to the House, which has time to issue until Thursday morning.

However, the Chamber would also move quickly, since between Tuesday and Wednesday of next week it will decide whether to revoke Abrevaya’s precautionary measure or give rise to the complaint of the Ibarra-Macri tandem. If the first of the options happens, the Boca elections would take place on December 17, the last date available on the calendar to do them (the 24th is Christmas Eve and the 31st is New Year’s Eve). Obviously, those 13 thousand people targeted by the opposition would have the right to exercise their vote, because the Justice would consider that there were no irregularities in their registration.

The second scenario would prevent the elections from taking place in December due to a matter of timing. There would not be enough days to review and “clean” the electoral roll, as the engineer publicly declared. Given this situation, Boca should wait for the January judicial fair to pass and agree on a new date at a Board of Directors meeting, which by statute must be one month after the conclave. In this context, the partners could only put their envelope to the polls in March 2024.
