Gold jewelry worth Rs 4.7 crore recovered from SBI branch, 7 arrested
Srikakulam: In a shocking turn of events, police in Andhra Pradesh recovered gold jewelry worth Rs 4.7 crore from a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Gara, Srikakulam district. This discovery comes after 7 kg of jewelry kept in a bank locker went missing last month, sparking a widespread investigation.
The investigation revealed that Swapna Priya, an assistant manager at the SBI branch, was involved in the theft. Unfortunately, Swapna Priya committed suicide while the investigation was ongoing. Following her tragic death, the police intensified their efforts and arrested seven individuals, including bank employees and workers from private financial institutions.
