The dictatorship project of the President of the Republic, General Umaró Sissocó Embaló, which was harshly questioned by the massive defeat in the elections held last June, continues to be a real threat to the fragile project of bourgeois democracy in the country.

This instability, with the permanent anti-democratic threat from the leadership of the armed forces, with a lot of power over the resources, the affairs of the State and the destinies of the country, is also based on the complete bankruptcy of the Guinean State, which has proven incapable of guarantee the minimum in terms of basic rights of the population, forced to live in poverty and uncertainty, while the response to the PR and the failures of the State were on the agenda of the class struggle, which even led to the regime of Sissocó to interfere and boycott the main union center in the country, the UNTG-CS.

It is in this context that the regime sought, through an investigation into a payment process to private companies raised before the Minister of Economy and Finance, to attack the legitimacy of the absolute majority government of the PAI-Terra Ranka coalition, led by the PAIGC.

The Public Ministry ordered the preventive detention of Minister Suleimane Seidi and the Secretary of State for the Treasury, António Monteiro. These arrests were met with resistance from the National Guard, showing the fracture in the Guinean ruling class, and resulted in clashes with the Presidential Guard and the Military Police, which left two dead.

In response to this situation, Sissocó took the opportunity to arbitrarily and flagrantly declare the dissolution of the National Assembly unconstitutional.

In this situation, and in the face of the shameful capitulation of ministers of the PAI-Terra Ranka coalition, we echo the call for days of popular struggle made by the sympathetic section of the LIT-CI in Guinea-Bissau, the UPRG Cassacá-64, to stop this authoritarian attempt by the regime, remembering that once again the PAIGC and its leader Domingos Simões Pereira hesitate and disarm the people in the face of the regime’s secrecy, maintaining their role of “well behaved” before the international community and abandoning the population to your luck. For us, it is proven once again that the PAIGC is committed to maintaining bourgeois (dis)order in Guinea-Bissau, and its role in the looting, the diversion of funds, and the boycott and looting of the country, which encourage misery among the population. Therefore, the solution lies in the firm construction of an alternative that arises from popular struggles for better living conditions, from struggles for the payment of back wages, and the full functioning of hospitals, schools and faculties to improve conditions. of the Guinean population.

Therefore, building a program and an organization to give the working class a way out for the country, and trusting in one’s own strength, also seems fundamental to us in Guinea-Bissau.

Finally, one more word about the shameful role of the Portuguese regime in the figure of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who, in the name of the interests of the Portuguese and European bourgeoisie, decorates and, in other words, strengthens the makeup of the Sissocó Embaló regime and of the party he founded, but of which he is not tactically a part: Madem G-15. We urge the working class in Portugal to repudiate the institutional position of supporting the regime, and to surround the fight against the regime with solidarity.

Down with the coup of the dictator Umaró Sissocó Embaló!

Only the working class, hand in hand with the exploited people of Guinea Bissau, is reliable as a leadership to confront the regime and rebuild a Guinean State that guarantees bread, health, education, electricity and water!
