After its record hunt on Monday, the Dax initially showed little momentum. In the first minutes of trading, the leading German index rose by 0.06 percent to 16,769.97 points, remaining just below Friday’s record of 16,782 points.
The MDax of medium-sized companies started the new week with a loss of 0.35 percent to 26,598.26 points. Similar to the Dax, there was hardly any improvement for the Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50. Since the October low of 14,630 points, the year-end rally has lifted the Dax by almost 15 percent.
