Wipro CEO Thierry Delaport Tops List of Highest Paid CEOs in India
Thierry Delaport, the CEO of Wipro, has been named the highest paid CEO in India for 2023. The Economic Times recently released a list of the highest paid CEOs in the country, based on an analysis of the top 500 companies on the Mumbai Stock Exchange.
Interestingly, 7 out of the top 10 positions on the list are held by CEOs of the IT sector. This can be attributed to the fact that IT companies compete more directly with the global market than companies in other sectors. As a result, their CEOs are able to command higher salaries.
Thierry Delaport’s annual salary alone amounts to a staggering 82 crores, as per Indian value. Following closely behind him are Shalib Parekh, CEO of Infosys, with a salary of Rs 56.45 crore, and Chip Gurnani, CEO of Tech Mahindra, with a salary of Rs 30 crore.
These numbers underscore the immense wealth generated by the IT sector, and the considerable rewards reaped by its top executives. As the demand for digital and IT services continues to grow, it is likely that these CEOs will continue to command handsome pay packages in the years to come.
