Former IDF General Calls for Israel to Take Action Against Iran

In an interview on Radio 103FM, former head of the Operations Division, Major General Yisrael Ziv, expressed his views on the ongoing ground fighting in the Gaza Strip and called for action against Iran.

Ziv emphasized the need for Israel to make Iran “start paying a price in cash.” He highlighted several factors influencing the duration of the conflict, including American interests in achieving quick results and the impact on the Israeli economy and reserve forces.

The former general also provided an assessment of the IDF’s current operations, stating that the military has gained ground control in certain areas of the Gaza Strip. However, he expressed concern about the potential return of Hamas if the population is not effectively demobilized after the conflict.

Looking ahead, Ziv suggested an intermediate step that would involve halting the attack and occupation of territory, followed by negotiations and the establishment of a multinational task force to address the refugee crisis in Gaza.

Ziv also weighed in on the situation in the north, warning about the risk of Hezbollah members returning to the border if Israel does not enforce the Security Council resolution to keep them away.

The article emphasizes the importance of Ziv’s insights and notes that they were assisted in its preparation by Amitai Doak of 103FM.
