Cavendish will start 2024 in Colombia – International Cycling

Mark Cavendish will begin his last season as a professional in Colombia. He would not only attend the return of the 2.1 race in that country, but he would also hold a concentration at altitude with several teammates.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport – historically linked to the Italian block of Astana -, the Briton will be in the Tour Colombia, which would be his fifth visit to South America after having participated in the Tour of San Luis (2013/14/15) and the Vuelta a San Juan (2019).

But, like so many others, the one from Astana would also do a two-week training camp – apparently in January – in the coffee-growing country, taking advantage of the altitude and climate. The news is not surprising because “Cav” usually starts his campaigns on the same dates, but perhaps he will go to the Colombian Tour to compete at a lower pace than in Down Under or the Arab events where the sprinters have tough battles.

Since his abandonment in the Tour de France, the man from the Isle of Man only raced the Tour of Turkey and an early but calmer start to the season is logical. Excellent news for Colombians, who will have the pleasure of receiving another star in their country.

Additionally, we want to report MARCA HORA, to the site ViewMe, and another Latin American multimedia, which also steals material for its social networks and is evident when it publishes news on the same day as us that was actually from previous days and we decided to delay. If the incident is repeated, we will hold a public protest.
