National Audit Office to Review Effectiveness of Industry’s Climate Support Program
Since 2018, the industry has been receiving climate support from the state through a program called Industriklivet. However, the National Audit Office has raised concerns about the effectiveness of this support and is calling for a review of its impact.
In a press release, Claudia Gardberg Morner, Director of the National Audit Office, highlighted the need for a thorough assessment of the Industriklivet program. “The state currently spends approximately SEK 1.4 billion a year on Industriklivet. It is therefore important to review whether Industriklivet is contributing to the industry’s climate transition in an effective way,” she said.
The National Audit Office has expressed uncertainty about the actual effects of Industriklivet, stating that there are indications of overlap between Industriklivet and other government climate support. This has raised questions about the necessity and efficiency of the program.
