The coming of age of Leonor, the princess of Asturias and future queen, and her swearing in of the Constitution has marked one of the events of the year. Now, the Royal Family has congratulated Christmas with a photograph from that day.

On October 31, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía posed smiling in the gallery of the Royal Palace. With that image they wanted to make the traditional Christmas greeting, thus highlighting the importance that day has had for the Royal Family. And not only because Leonor was turning 18, but because, as stated in the Magna Carta, the future heir swore the Constitution in the Congress of Deputies, in an act in which she was supported by her family.

In the image the Kings appear, one on each side and their two daughters in the center. Princess Leonor next to her mother and Infanta Sofía next to her father. The photo was taken in the gallery of the Royal Palace, but Zarzuela does not specify if it was taken before or after the lunch that was held that day.

The four of them pose relaxed after the historic moment they had experienced. The greeting says: “Merry Christmas and a happy new year 2024. We wish you this with all our affection.” Also in English. The congratulations are signed by all four of them in their own handwriting.
