Jonathan Majors Trial: NYPD Testimonies and Witness Accounts

by time news

Actor Jonathan Majors’ ongoing trial was in the spotlight on Tuesday as two NYPD police officers testified about the events leading to his arrest for alleged assault. The officers responded to Majors’ 911 call after finding his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, unconscious in their shared apartment.

Majors’ 911 call was played in court, revealing his fear that Jabbari had overdosed or attempted suicide. However, officers did not find evidence to support this claim. Jabbari was taken to Bellevue Hospital to treat her injuries and undergo a short psychiatric evaluation before being released.

Jabbari testified last week that she saw a text message on Majors’ phone from another woman, leading to an argument that escalated into physical assault. She alleged that Majors struck her multiple times and grabbed her throat.

The defense has claimed that Jabbari fabricated the allegations to retaliate against Majors after their breakup. The couple had dated for two years before Majors ended the relationship on the night of the alleged assault.

Majors faces three misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment to which he has pleaded not guilty. The trial continues, with the prosecution near the end of its witness list, and testimony expected to resume on Wednesday. If convicted, Majors could face up to a year in prison.
