SpaceX Scrubs Tuesday Night’s Falcon 9 Rocket Launch Attempt

After much anticipation, SpaceX has announced that tonight’s launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station has been scrubbed. The originally scheduled lift-off time of 11:39 p.m. EST will no longer take place. No official explanation has been released for the postponement.

This news comes hours after SpaceX had pushed back its Falcon Heavy launch attempt carrying the secretive Space Force X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle to Wednesday. The new target time for this launch is 8:13 p.m. EST. It was hoped that tonight’s Falcon 9 rocket launch would go ahead, however, it seems that the mission will now be delayed.

The Starlink 6-34 mission had been set to extend SpaceX’s record as the 69th rocket launch from the Space Coast this year. The Falcon 9 would have been responsible for carrying 23 internet-beaming satellites into low-Earth orbit, marking a significant payload for the company.

While fueling procedures were underway at Launch Complex 40 earlier this evening, SpaceX announced that the mission is now postponed. All systems and weather had previously been go for launch, but it seems that something forced the company to make the difficult decision to scrub.

It has not been explained when the launch will be rescheduled for, but disappointed space enthusiasts will have to wait for another opportunity to witness this important mission. We will update with further information regarding the rescheduled launch time as it is released by SpaceX.
