The long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S24 is set to feature a groundbreaking emergency texting via satellite connectivity, according to recent leaks and reports. The new feature, dubbed “Emergency texts via satellite,” will allow users to send texts to emergency services even when they are out of range or not connected to a mobile network.
A leaked screenshot from a Galaxy phone reveals the details of the emergency feature, resembling the functionality that recent iPhone models have incorporated. With “Emergency texts via satellite,” users can send text messages with their GPS location to emergency response teams, enabling them to locate and assist the user in emergency situations.
Samsung has reportedly developed its 5G NTN technology, providing two-way satellite communication that meets the standards defined by the 3GPP (Release 17). This technology is expected to be integrated into the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
