The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Budapest Airport Holding by Corvinus Zrt. and VINCI Airports, the Brussels board informed on Wednesday.
According to the EU Commission announcement, the European Commission has approved, on the basis of the European Merger Regulation, that the Hungarian-based Corvinus International Investment Zrt. and the French-based VINCI Airports acquire joint control over Airport Holding Tanácsadó Kft. (Budapest Airport Holding).
The transaction mainly affects the airport operation sector.
According to the European Commission’s findings, the planned merger does not raise competition law concerns, as the parties are not present in the same market or in vertically connected markets.
The planned transaction was examined by the EU committee in the framework of a simplified merger control procedure, they added.
