The sanctions are falling! In anticipation of the 16th day of Ligue 1 which begins on Friday with Monaco-Lyon, five ministerial decrees have been published to prohibit the travel of supporters. The Lens-Reims, Nantes-Brest, Toulouse-Rennes, Le Havre-Nice matches as well as the clash between Lille and PSG on Sunday are affected while the authorities have decided to ban fan travel at least until December 18 for football matches classified as risky.

These decisions are in line with the speeches made by the Ministries of Sports and the Interior. Gérald Darmanin had banned the movement of Seville supporters on Wednesday to Lens in the Champions League before the Council of State finally gave the green light a few hours before kick-off. The period is collective sanctions in France, after dramatic events marked several football matches.

Visiting the Viarmes-Asnières club in Val-d’Oise this Wednesday, the president of the French Football Federation Philippe Diallo told us his position on this subject. “I prefer individual sanctions, the identification of troublemakers, and punishing them severely rather than collective sanctions. » The boss of the FFF, however, makes the same observation of urgency. After the death of a supporter stabbed in Nantes by a VTC driver or the stoning of the OL bus approaching the Vélodrome stadium, the authorities must react with force and vigor, according to him, to fight against this violence.

“Amateur football is not exempt from acts of violence or phenomena of racism”

“Football is made to bring people together, to share,” he said. We note, unfortunately, that there have been very serious incidents. Even if it was on the public highway, we saw them in Marseille, there was this drama in Nantes. We cannot remain without reacting. » For Philippe Diallo, “we must strengthen collaboration between law enforcement, justice, football, to try to eradicate these phenomena of violence which are not specific to France.”

Amateur football is not spared either. Here again, the fight against verbal and physical violence is a key issue for the FFF, which has in mind the attack on an U9 educator in the Linas-Montlhéry club or the monkey cries heard at the beginning of October during a youth match in Vierzon. “We have constant vigilance. The light is shed on professional clubs and the incidents that happen there but amateur football, let us be aware, is not exempt from acts of violence or phenomena of racism or discrimination, explains Philippe Diallo. You talk about Montlhéry, I saw it in Vierzon where unacceptable things happened there too. I had its president, I had the young referee who stopped the match because these are unacceptable attitudes which do not correspond to the football we want to play. I, all the people who do not share this desire for union and gathering, I say that they stay at home! »

“Unfortunately, often parents are part of the problem”

The boss of the FFF also had a message to send to parents who, every week, accompany their children to the side of the pitch. “Especially in amateur football, we have an educational mission. Part of the mission of our clubs is to transmit values to our youth. We cannot succeed in this mission if parents are not aware of their extreme responsibility. When we see the irresponsible attitudes of parents who come to attack educators, it is unacceptable! These people are doing more harm to their children and to football than they think. Unfortunately, in many cases, parents are part of the problem… It’s them on the sidelines, vilifying the referees, scolding players from the opposing team or attacking the coach, who create a bad situation. climate. I ask these parents to examine their conscience about their attitude and to remember, even more so when you are young, that football is meant to be fun. »

Pleasure, indeed, the hundred boys and girls (from U6 to U11) invited to kick the ball, this Wednesday at the Mas Poli stadium, had it throughout the afternoon through several circulation workshops. bullet and shots. Despite the rain, there were smiles, joy and parents happy to be there. A moment of sharing that young and old alike did not fail to immortalize with a selfie with Mr. Diallo.

An event for a good cause when the Viarmes-Asnières club joined forces with the local branch AFM – Téléthon 95 to ensure that the proceeds could offer a gesture of solidarity. The FFF, partner of the Telethon since 2015, will make an additional contribution through the clubs and their ticketing during the next round of the Coupe de France at the beginning of January.
