PP and Vox take 3,000 euros from the Valencian Language Academy and give it to a secessionist organization

This is the new measure of the Popular Party and Vox, who have decided to amend the budget of the Valencian Language Academy (AVL) for 2024.

The decision has been particularly striking for two reasons. The first, because although the legislation foresees that the Courts can amend the accounts presented by the executive, it means reducing the autonomy of a statutory body like the AVL. And the second, because it implies that the Valencian Language Academy finances an entity such as the Association of Writers in the Valencian Language, which does not recognize its authority and which follows the secessionist precepts of the Royal Academy of Valencian Culture, a association that opposes the philological and academic consensus.
