Houthis Attack: Maritime Incidents Off the Coast of Yemen

by time news

The Houthis attack again: Today (Thursday) in the afternoon, the Maritime Trade Authority of Great Britain reported on two ships that got into incidents off the coast of Yemen. The Embry Maritime Security Company said that a group claiming to be the “Yemen Navy” demanded one of the vessels to change its course to sail towards Yemen. The company claimed that the Houthis were responsible for the attack.

Al Jazeera also quoted a Yemeni source who reported that “the Houthis are forcing a container ship that was on its way to Israel to change its course. The ship that was stopped on the way to the ports of Yemen.” The Embry security company also reported that a missile was apparently launched from Yemen towards another cargo ship that was dozens of kilometers from the coast. In the ship we were informed that the missile hit the water and none of the passengers were hurt.

The Houthis threatened to attack any ship that tries to reach Israel – and carried it out

As I recall, the Houthis from Yemen threatened to attack any ship on its way to Israel, and only a few days ago it was reported that the group attacked a commercial tanker with an anti-ship cruise missile while it was passing through an area controlled by the rebels.
