On December 14, it became available in Europe, including in our country Mark Zuckerberg led by Meta’s newest social site, Threads, modeled after X (formerly Twitter), allowing the sharing of short posts. In the early afternoon, only the web version was available to Hungarian users, but now the smartphone application can be downloaded as well – for both Android and iOS.

On iOS, the application appears in the App Store even after entering it in the search engine, but on Android, this does not always happen. If someone doesn’t want to wait on this platform either, all they have to do is open Instagram, go to their own profile, open the menu with the sandwich icon in the upper right corner, select the Threads menu item, and then select the Install Threads option. After doing this, you will be taken to the Play Store and the option to download the application will appear.

Threads is essentially a new microblog that requires an Instagram account to log in. A post can consist of 500 characters, and the longest video that can be uploaded can be 5 minutes. What makes the service different from Twitter is that, like TikTok, posts from different accounts can be read indiscriminately on the main screen, and although it is possible to follow anyone, there is currently no interface where only the content of selected users can be read.
