Like a letter in the mail, the 2024 finance bill was adopted yesterday in the National Assembly, without any modification, as usual. A little more than sixty deputies out of the 151 who make up this chamber voted for this fundamental document setting the state budget for the coming year.

The opposition deputies, in particular those of Tiako i Madagasikara and those who are close to the deputies candidates in the presidential election of November 16, namely Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, (elected in Toliara) and Jean Brunelle Razafintsiandrofa (elected in Ikongo) n did not attend the vote. One MP present in the room did not cast his vote, others left before the vote even began.

Concerning the possible change that the finance bill may bring, the IRD deputies brandish in particular the increase in housing allowances for teachers and the 16.66% increase in subsidies allocated to municipalities.

Housing allowances for teachers thus increase from 14,000 ariary to 50,000 ariary. Furthermore, the subsidy for FRAM teachers has been increased, for preschool and primary schools, it goes from 110,000 ariary to 150,000 ariary, from 120,000 ariary to 180,000 ariary for middle schools and from 150,000 ariary to 200,000 ariary for high schools. .
