CSO and MEMI have announced the acquisition of all assets of Coney Island Inc. to create a new, $118 million entertainment campus. The venue will be state-of-art and “the first of its kind.” The organizations plan to complement the existing venues of Riverbend and PNC Pavilion and believe it will allow them to do bigger and better events like festivals in the future. The preliminary design is in progress for the facility, with many key decisions yet to be finalized. MEMI hopes the effort to elevate Cincinnati’s music scene will lessen the blow of Coney Island’s closure. Additional information will be released in the coming weeks and months.
