Diplomacy: the President of the Transition receives the credentials of 13 new ambassadors

Ouagadougou, December 14 2023(AIB). The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE received this Thursday morning, the letters of credence of thirteen (13) ambassadors newly accredited to Burkina Faso. These are the ambassadors of the European Union, the Republic of Italy, the Republic of Japan, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Republic of Tunisia, the Republic of Chad, the Arab Republic of Egypt, from the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Israel and India.

His Excellency Mr. Bhaskar BHATT is the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of India accredited to Burkina Faso with residence in Ouagadougou. A career diplomat, Bhaskar BHATT has held positions in several Indian missions across the world.

The European Union has accredited His Excellency Mr. Daniel Aristi GAZTELUMENDI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Burkina Faso. Deputy divisional head in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, the Spanish diplomat will have his residence in Ouagadougou.

His Excellency Mr. Gabriel DI MUZIO is the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Burkina Faso with residence in Ouagadougou.

A graduate in Political Science with an international politics option, the new ambassador has been his country’s ambassador in Libreville, Gabon since October 2018.

The Republic of Japan has accredited His Excellency Mr. Jun NAGASHIMA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Burkina Faso with residence in Ouagadougou. The Japanese diplomat is a graduate of the National Defense Academy and holds a master’s degree from the University of Tsukuba.

His Excellency Mr. Luis Manuel ANDINI PAIZ, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua also presented his letters of credence to the Head of State. Holder of a master’s degree in anthropology and social leadership, the diplomat has his residence in Ouagadougou.

The Tunisian Republic has accredited His Excellency Mr. Mounir JOMNI, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Burkina Faso with residence in Ouagadougou. Previously director of legal consultations, litigation and interpreting at his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was an advisor at the Tunisian embassy in France.

His Excellency Mr. Mahamat Saleh ADOUM is the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Chad to Burkina Faso. A graduate of the University of Economics and Finance of Saint Petersburg in Russia, the Chadian diplomat will reside in Ouagadougou.

The Arab Republic of Egypt has accredited His Excellency Mr. Sherif Abdel Kader Abdel Latif NADA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country. He will have his residence in the Burkinabe capital.

The diplomatic representative of the Republic of Korea in our country is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kim SAENG. Holder of a university degree in political science, the South Korean served as first secretary and consul at the South Korean embassy in Israel.

The United Arab Emirates have accredited His Excellency Mr. Yousef Said KHAMIS AL ALI, new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Burkina Faso with residence in Algiers, Algeria.

His Excellency Mr. Zainal Izran BIN ZAHARI is the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia in our country with residence in Dakar, Senegal. The diplomat was in 2019 a member of the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, Austria.

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka intends to strengthen its cooperation with Burkina Faso with the appointment of His Excellency Mr. Kananathan VELUPPILAI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country, with residence in Nairobi, Kenya.

Her Excellency Mrs. Rony Yedidia CLEIN, new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the State of Israel to Burkina Faso also presented her letters of credence to the Head of State. She will reside in Abidjan in Ivory Coast.
