In the absence of accounting for the month of December, the Port of Cadiz (Spain) has reached a historic milestone by exceeding 600,000 cruise passengers for the first time in its history. Between January and November 2023, a total of 636,868 cruise passengers were registered, marking an impressive increase of 72% compared to the same period of the previous year.

This new record is also reflected in the number of cruise stops, which has reached 326, exceeding the 322 recorded in all of 2018 and showing a growth of 14.79% compared to November 2022. With 18 stops planned for December , it is expected that the year 2023 will close with a new historical record of 344 stopovers, of which 209 belong to the premium or luxury category.

In addition, the total movement of goods has reached another important milestone by exceeding, with one month left, 5.2 million tons moved, which represents an increase of 2.66%. Solid bulk led this growth with an increase of 18.7%, reaching two million tons moved.

Regarding maritime traffic, road traffic with the Canary Islands has experienced an increase of 6%, reaching 750,087 tons, while lo-lo traffic has reduced by 8% until November, totaling 1.1 million tons .

It is also worth mentioning that within the container sector, there has been a 10% decrease in TEUs, reaching 152,974, and a 12% reduction in number, with 79,539 units. However, a recovery is observed in the last month, with an increase of 5% in units, 9% in TEUs and 14% in tons.
