Line 2 – Work, Development and Migrations: aims to investigate the historical and social processes of communities, groups and populations in intercultural contexts, especially in the context of Portuguese-speaking African countries and Brazil, focusing on the following themes: colonialism and post-colonialism; state, development and public policies; migration, nationalities; democracy; diaspora and cultural diversity; rites, symbolisms, integration and identities; history and class struggle; work and education; body, health and illnesses; indigenous memory and resistance. The knowledge produced, in this line, is based on the exercise of an interdisciplinary praxis, relying on analyzes of Anthropology, History, Education, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Economy and Literature. As a result, the line privileges the following research themes: work and production relations, regional economic imbalances, migratory processes, formation of capitalism in Brazil, History of Health and disease, management and educational policy, ethnic-racial relations, identities and African diasporas, basic and higher education, international cooperation, urban and regional development and criticism of political economy.
