The State Secretary of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), P.M. Arshaw, has criticized Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for his role as the chancellor of universities in the state. Arshaw accused the governor of trying to destroy the academic environment and impose RSS’s agenda on the universities. He also alleged that the governor has adopted a stand that is stifling the entire academic environment.

Arshaw emphasized that the SFI’s protest against the governor is democratic and aimed at safeguarding the higher education sector in Kerala. He criticized the opposition party, UDF, for not raising a struggle against the intervention of the RSS chancellor in the universities. Arshaw also raised concerns about the appointment of senate members and alleged that the opposition leader’s office sent names to the chancellor’s table via the BJP office.

The governor, on the other hand, claimed that he has taken up the challenge raised by SFI and that he is bringing about positive changes to the universities. However, he did not respond to media queries regarding the allegations made against him.

The controversy surrounding the governor’s role as the chancellor of universities has sparked a political struggle in Kerala, with the SFI and other opposition groups voicing their concerns and protesting against his intervention.
