Family Survives Tennessee Tornado, Loving Mother Saves Baby from Twister

A week ago, a powerful tornado ripped through parts of Tennessee, leaving behind a large swath of destruction. Sydney Moore, her boyfriend Aramis Youngblood, and their two young sons experienced the terrifying ordeal firsthand. By the time the tornado had passed, their mobile home was destroyed, but miraculously, they all survived.

When they heard the wind picking up, Moore and her family had little time to react. The roof of their mobile home was sheared off and 4-month-old Lord was sucked up by the tornado. Moore, who had immediately moved to shield her 1-year-old son Princeton, was ultimately left cradling him as they emerged from beneath the remains of their destroyed home. Youngblood, in an act of bravery, searched through heaps of debris to find Lord, who was crying and lodged in a fallen tree about 30 feet from where their home once stood.

The tornado left behind a trail of destruction, with hundreds of homes destroyed and at least six people killed. However, miraculously, young Lord escaped with just a cut on his ear.

Clarksville Fire Rescue Lt. Steven Bryant was one of the first responders in the area that day. He recounted the chaos and devastation but also the miraculous moment when Lord was found alive and handed back to his mother. Bryant, who has lived in the north Tennessee city for 45 years, was in awe of the fact that people weren’t more seriously injured.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Moore and her family as they deal with the aftermath of the devastation. Yet, even in the midst of tragedy, a heartwarming miracle emerged. Among the remains of Sydney Moore’s mobile home, a box containing the ashes of their mother, who died last year, was found completely undisturbed, untouched, and perfect.

“It was like a scene in a movie,” Moore said. And while the family has gone through an unimaginable ordeal, they have emerged with a renewed belief in guardian angels and miracles. “I believe that our mom was probably the one that placed my nephew Lord in that tree safely,” Moore’s sister Caitlyn said.
